Oh, baby: Versed Baby Cheeks All-in-One Hydrating Milk

Today we got a quick, lil’ blog post reviewing one of Versed’s newest skincare launches I’ve been using regularly since its release! For the uninitiated, Versed launched in 2019 by the same makers of WhoWhatWear. Their products are focused on being sustainable and suitable to people with certain ingredient sensitivites, while also being affordable and accessible.

Last month, they released two new toners— one hydrating and one exfoliating. Today, I’m reviewing the Baby Cheeks All-in-One Hydrating Milk, from the name you can probably guess which one of the aforementioned toners it is.

Size & Availability

$18 for via Dermstore, Target, Revolve, Cult Beauty, & Versed

Product Claims

“Multitasking milk that hydrates the skin, erases all traces of makeup, restores skin’s natural pH balance and removes post-washing hard water residue. It's a three-in-one cleansing milk, makeup remover and hydrating toner” from the product description on the Dermstore site.

Ingredients

Water/Aqua/Eau, Propanediol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Phyllostachys Bambusoides Leaf Extract, Algae Extract, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filterate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyglyceryl-2 Oleate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum

Star ingredients include: coconut water, phyllostachys bambusoides leaf extract (bamboo extract), algae extract, and radish root ferment filtrate.

Fragrance

As you might have guessed from a peek at the ingredients list, this doesn’t contain any synthetic fragrance or essential oils. It doesn’t smell like much upon application.

Packaging

The bottle is completely plastic, with a pump on top. It’s a plus if you use cotton pads/ reusable pads but it’s not so great if you like apply toner with your hands.

Texture

Thin and watery and not viscous at all.

Overall Thoughts

Because this promises to be a 3 in 1 sort of product, I’ve been using it as such. I would say it delivers on 2 out of the 3 claims. As a cleansing milk, it works nicely as removing light residue from my face, without stripping it or leaving any residue behind. It actually hydrates while also cleansing! That said, it does not deliver on its makeup removing claim. Perhaps it removes a little bit of makeup, but if I were to wipe my fingers across my face, makeup would still transfer. SO because of that, I’ve been using it as a morning cleanser. It removes my overnight… grime, but doesn’t irritate my skin or dry patches. It also works nicely as a hydrating toner! But because of the packaging I mentioned upthread, it is difficult to dispense directly onto my hands.

Long story short: this is a nice, simple, hydrating toner that can also be used for a lightweight cleanse (I personally use it as a morning cleanser.)
