Sundays in SoCal

One of my absolute favorite things about living in LA is being able to explore the countless farmers' markets around the city. Rain or shine, all throughout the year, you can get fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies and tasty treats and chat with the vendors to learn more about all different types of foods. Needless to say, it was necessary to take my family to the Brentwood farmers' market bright and (not so) early Sunday morning while they were in town. Even though parking was a b*tch, it was totally worth it to share with them the total SoCal farmers' market experience.

Side note: if you happen to live or visit LA and want to learn more about the numerous farmers' market, click here for a guide published by LA weekly which tells you all the dates, locations, and times of the different' markets.

After eating lunch and picking up some snacks at the market, we headed up the coast to Santa Barbara. We spent some time admiring the Spanish colonial architecture around town and renting a tandem bike by the pier. By the time we got to the beach it was already high tide and much of the coastline had been swallowed by the ocean. Still, I was mesmerized by its beauty!
