on my radar: lowland boots

I'd say more often than not, over the knee boots get a thumbs down from me. But when they're good, they're so good. The stuart weitzman highland boots have long been on my "sooo good" list, but putting their price to the side, I never contemplated purchasing them cause the chances that I would wear a pair of over the knee boots with a 4 inch heel on a daily basis were slim to none. Enter, the lowland boot.

I'm not sure if they're new, but I first saw them this year and they were a love-at-first-sight item. So much that I have seriously considered purchasing them despite their ridiculously high price tag. I mean, it's the holidays. There are sales left and right. And I have a chunk of untouched birthday money just waiting to be spent. It's like it was meant to be.

Asides from the whole paying an arm and a leg for them issue, the fact of the matter is I don't even know if they would actually fit me. Their site claims they're made out of a stretchy suede, but I have a small foot and not so thin legs. I spotted them from afar at Nordstroms, in fear of going too close and succumbing to their chant of "buy me, buy me," and find it hard to believe they could be that stretchy. Maybe they could be some sort of weight loss reward incentive kinda thing. Instead of gaining weight during the holidays, I'll lose some and buy myself a fabulous pair of boots. A girl can dream.

buy 'em: bloomingdales, stuart weitzman, forward by elyse walker, zappos, nordstrom, neiman marcus, bergdorf goodman, saks fifth avenue.

  1. That's two of us! They're great for winter as you look dressed up and they're obviously gorgeous, but twith the low heel they let you walk for miles, just perfect for these times!! ;)

  2. I feel the same way about over the knee boots -- I don't know if I'll fit them. I wouldn't want them to cut off my circulation haha but sacrifices for fashion?
These are so so so gorgeous though...

  5. I have been wanting the highland boots for so long! (I'd want the lowland ones but I can't wear flats. Womp! Womp!) Anyways, I found a very similar pair to the highland boot at Zappos for $150 and got them! My sister loved them so much that she decided she needed a flat version of my boots because she rarely wears heels. I searched zappos and found a very similar flat pair for under $100! Moral of this story: you should check Zappos for a less expensive but very similar boot :)

  7. Omg these boots have been in the back of my mind for far too long. I really wished they weren't so expensive. I'm in need of finding a dupe or hopefully any upcoming sales will help me.

  8. Thanks for the recs! Less than a $100 is definitely more affordable than almost $800

  9. I have wanted a pair of boots like these for ages! Well, not ages. But maybe these past two winters. Girl, you go get them! If they make you happy, when why not.

  10. They're beautiful! And Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales are just coming up - I hope you get them! They are a bit pricey but they're quite a classic cut so you'll get lots of wear from them :)

  11. May I ask what dupe you found on zappos? and do the flat ones fit hug the legs? i have really skinny legs so finding boots that will stay up is hard! I tried on these lowlands at nordstrom and fell in love, but idk if spending $700+ is justifiable. I doubt these will go on sale for black friday/cybermonday.

  12. Hi Abigail,
I remember reading this post on Kacie's blog where she talks about the over the knee boots she got: http://www.kaciesklosetblog.com/2014/11/over-knee-boots.html.

As far as getting a deal on these boots, I know that piperlime has been having a 30% off coupon for signing up for emails recently, but sadly these boots are sold out on their site at the moment :( But I've been checking from time to time and they sometimes come back in stock in various sizes.

In previous years, shopbop, neiman marcus, and saks have had buy more, save more events around black Friday and cyber Monday. You could potentially save 20-25% off the boots during these events.

    Hope that helps :)

  13. I got these boots on Black Friday (no discount, but extra points on the Nordies credit card that day) and they are AMAZING. I'm not that tall or that tiny and have pretty muscular calves. So I always have issues fitting my calves into boots and if they do fit then the ankle is super baggy. But I swear these are like the holy grail of curvy calve boots. If you've ever tried on the 5050's these are like those in fit - but BETTER.

If you can afford them, they are worth every penny. And I do not say that about misc. luxury items a lot. They are slimming and comfortable! You will not look like sausage legs, that was my fear.
