SLIDER

cute without the "e"

sweater: vintage from my mom's closet, skirt: h&m (similar from topshop), booties: zara, lips: nyc retro red (super, super cheap), glasses: ray-ban

Remember when I went on and on about really wanting a princess-worthy, flouncy midi skirt? Preferably in the $50 and under range. Well, if you don't, I don't blame you for not remembering the ramblings of a random girl on the internet. Naturally I was elated when I came across this skirt mid-November on the H&M site, so much that I went ahead and purchased it in both colors during their pre-Thanksgiving sale. Even with my enthusiasm, the skirts were pushed to the back of my closet for a good month and a half. Finally last week, I told myself, "screw suburbia!" and marched out, decked out in my poofy skirt.

To not half-ass the whole girly-girl look, I swiped some of this super cheap, yet super moisturizing lipstick. I forgot my makeup bag at school, so this was recent drugstore purchase made while I was hunting for some peppermint bark (it's all sold out, boo.) I was pleasantly surprised at the abilities of this $1 baby!

  4. I can't believe I say it but snow does make a perfect background and of course I'm noticing it now when we don't have any here in my country. anyway, I think this skirt and your gorgeous booties make a wonderful match as well and the lippie looks outstanding!! the first photo could be a lipstick ad, believe me ;)

  6. Good that you finally wore this skirt because this is such a stylish look and I love really the contrast with the snow in the background! I have also some wide mide skirts, but to be honest I wear them much to seldom :)

  14. OMG I think I need that skirt in my life! I think I've overextended my friendship with my girlfriend in SF though, she's been my H&M mule! And bravo for wearing a skirt in what we're hearing over here as an "insane apocalyptic polar winter" in the US!

  21. I love the silhouette of the skirt, but to be honest, you are rocking the punk vibe here more than the girly one. Your expression is so editorial-worthy in that first picture that I thought the title of this post was "cute withOUT the e." You're too fashion-forward for suburbia!

  22. Loved the skirt! I love its shape, it's actually my favorite shape of skirt (or dress)! You look gorgeous and wow, I was going to comment about the lipstick - I found it amazing, I love that color! And then you said it's new and for that price? Impressive! As I always tell a friend of mine who insists, only "Moschino and etc" will make her look good - I say no, it's the attitude. :) You have it AND you look beautiful! denisesplanet com
