chop't

As September and the inevitable start of school approaches, it's time for me to get a haircut. I've had long hair for about as long as I can remember, and usually get a trim of a few inches 2 or 3 times a year. The shortest it has been, excluding my childhood, was probably... 6 years ago, where it was still well past my shoulders. I've been contemplating cutting my hair short for quite some time, but I fear taking the plunge. Once it's gone, it's gone for good. Not to mention that my hair is the longest it has ever been, and when pulled straight, touches the top of my pants in the back. Buuuttt, the whole short and messy, long bob do has really caught my eye, to the point where I want MY hair to look that way-- even though I have no idea how it will look with my face. There's only like, a 25% chance that I have the audacity to actually cut it this way, but maybe this group of inspo photos will help. To cut or not to cut?

  3. Jessica Alba was definitely the reason why I cut my hair the length that it is now! You should go for it, change is good :)

Haha, I know that when I was ready for a change I ended up loving how my hair turned out. Looking at all this hair inspo is making me itch for a change again though...hmmmm

  5. DO IT! I only just came across your blog today as I was bloghopping but judging by your natural wavy hair I'd say this is a go :) I was actually considering this myself but I'm hesitant considering I cut my hair as short like three years back and I'm still growing it to its full length... -_-

  7. It's absolutely amazing!! But i would first advice you to ask your hairdresser if that cut would suit your face shape and if your hair would also look nice that way (what products you should to use...)
    hope I've helped ;)

  8. I always found that hair that ends at the shoulders are particular hard to manage...it tends to kink at that length. But that's just my humble opinion!

  10. Go for it but as the first time to get it cut, with my experienced the length on your post is perfect, don't go shorter than that. I was tears down of my first shorted cut since then I have never had a short hair cut anymore, only the length on your post that to be safe in my opinion.

  12. Have it cut and make your hair breathe!! I think, this long bob will look amazing for your face and it is better to have chic hair than to have them tied all the time ;)

  15. I really love this hair cut but I don't think I'd get it just cause my hair really bounces up so much. I'd rather just stick with my longer locks, more manageable for me!

  16. I say do it!!! i recently chopped off my hair and i love it!!! it's very liberating actually and i love the inspiration you gathered here! i think these haircuts are fantastic! you can always ease yourself into cutting your hair by gradually cutting it shorter so you don't get that initial shock of completely cutting it off in one go!
