jumping on the jelly shoe trend

shoes: mel

In my defense, I totally wanted a pair of jelly shoes last year but they were all fugly and/or overpriced. So now I'm jumping on the jelly bandwagon with a slightly less intense version than their chunkier relatives. Surprisingly, rather than reaching for the black or nude version, the hot pink sandals were the ones that caught my eyes and heart. I can't say these were made for puddle hopping-- unless drenching your feet in dirty puddle water is your thing-- but they're a nice alternative to clunky rain boots for those wet days in the summer, where you probably spend more time in your car + indoors than you do walking around outside.

  5. Love the color of these! I've been eyeing the more old-school jelly sandals--you know the typical elementary school type? (I'm so horrid at describing things like this...)But anyway, nice look...has nautical vibes.

  13. Do you have any problems with blisters? I've thought about jumping on this trend myself but to me they seem like they'd be blister central o.O

  17. The last time jellies were "in" I was maybe 7ish...they thing I remember most was your feet slipping around when they inevitably got sweaty in the summer heat. Is that still true? I think they are terribly cute but would love to hear if you still get the sweaty foot sliding around issue. :)

  22. I have always avoided wearing jelly shoes because I am scared of blisters. That's a really cute pair, though! I may just buckle up and try a pair out for myself.
